A few blocks from downtown San Martin you will find the waterfront promenade and Lake Lacar. From there you can see the head of the lake, the Comandante Díaz hill (on the left) and the Curruhuinca (on the right).
From the port, boats leave for transfers to Quila Quina and daily excursions to Hua Hum. Also there and at the nautical club, canoes and water bicycles are rented in the summer.
From the shore of Lake Lácar, take the road that leads to the old Hotel Sol and then to the right. 3 Km ahead you will find the viewpoint, which has incredible views of the lake and the town. It is an excellent panoramic point.

The trail to the Bandurrias viewpoint starts from the town center of San Martin de los Andes and is one of the most accessible and beautiful hikes, since the viewpoint allows admiring a complete panoramic view of Lake Lácar, its mountainous shores, Mount Chapelco, the town and the summits bordering Chile.
Only 5 km away from San Martín de los Andes, along the 7 Lakes Route, after going down a road that crosses a magnificent forest of pellín oak and cypresses, you will arrive at Catritre Beach. The place is very busy in summer because of its proximity to the town. There is public transportation to and from the terminal.
It can be accessed by car, bike or lake excursion.
At 18 km. from the town: leaving by the route of the 7 lakes at 6 km., on the right hand side you will find the detour to Quila Quina. It is a narrow road, with multiple curves, which requires caution when driving. It is a very beautiful drive, with panoramic views.

Along the road of the 7 lakes you can go to Villa Traful, Villa La Angostura and San Carlos de Bariloche.
